The commercial port of the city of Volos is located in an important geopolitical position and it is fast growing operating under an active plan of infrastructure and activity expansion. Part of that plan is a new line of connection with Cyprus and Israel, a more effective use of the terminal, the creation of a commercial station and a connection with the railway system.
The port of Volos is well protected from weather conditions and optimal for minor repairs and maintenance services. It is going to be one of the country’s ports that will have the ship supplying system on the LNG fuel, a kind of natural gas that some ships will be obliged to use from 2022 for environmental protection reasons. Every year more than 20.000 containers are transported.
